About Course
Introduction to Cubasis is a beginner-friendly course taught by veteran producer and educator Shareef Islam, designed to help musicians and creators master mobile music production using Steinberg’s Cubasis. Whether you’re producing on an iPad or a mobile studio setup, this course guides you through every essential feature—from beat-making and MIDI programming to mixing, effects, and exporting. With Shareef’s real-world experience and clear instruction, you’ll be able to make full tracks on the go with the same creativity and polish as desktop DAWs.
The course begins with an overview of the Cubasis interface, where Shareef shows how to set up your session, navigate the project view, and use the various built-in tools. You’ll get comfortable with the user interface quickly, including how to manage tracks, access the toolbars, and organize your sessions. This section lays the groundwork so you can jump into the creative process with confidence.
Next, you’ll build your first track. Shareef demonstrates how to drag and drop loops, edit and record audio, and organize your sample collection for easy access. You’ll also dive into MIDI production using Cubasis’s built-in instruments like Classic Machines, Micro Sonic, and Micrologue, as well as how to integrate Audio Units and Inter-App Audio to expand your sonic palette. The course then covers effects and routing—including FX racks, third-party plugin bundles, and MIDI effects—before moving on to mixing and exporting. Shareef explains how to automate parameters, arrange your session, save projects efficiently, and export your tracks in a range of professional formats. By the end of this course, you’ll be fully equipped to produce, mix, and release music entirely within Cubasis.
